We are urgently looking for a LAN Engineer.

Job Summary:

LAN Engineer
IT Experience (in years) 10+
Must have Skills
·       Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, Information Technology, or another relevant certification path

·       Capable of describing in detail, analyzing and operating L2/L3 technologies

·       Hands-on experience implementing, administering, monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting LAN environments

·       Experience using standard enterprise tools to log, track, or produce documentation

·       Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken

·       Able to work autonomously in task execution or collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Nice to have skills
·       Experience with Cisco LAN, WLAN and Firewall portfolios

·       Hand-on experience detail

·       Strong knowledge of switching protocols, including Ethernet, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and LAN segmentation techniques.

·       Strong knowledge of routing protocols, including BGP and static routing.

·       Operational knowledge of SDWAN technology.

·       Operational knowledge with Cisco Firewalls (Firepower, ASA) under orchestrators management (FMC, CSM).

·       Operational knowledge with Cisco wireless technologies, including Cisco WLC and vWLC controllers

·       Operational knowledge with DDI technologies,including DNS, DHCP, IPA

·       Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies, including packet capture, port mirror, CLI techniques.

·       Solid understanding of network security principles and practices, DOT1X, MAB, Port security and Cisco ISE.

·       CCNP, CCIE or other industry certifications

·       Working knowledge of automation and network-as-code
Key activities & role during transition
·       Implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs) across multiple locations or within a single site, ensuring high availability and optimal performance within L2/L3 networks

·       Support the setup and roll-out of monitoring and management solutions

·       Document network architecture, protocols and features

·       Configure and troubleshoot network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points in the LAN and WAN

·       Perform network capacity and capability assessments, monitor network performance, and implement necessary lifecycle upgrades
Key tasks and responsibilities for regular operations
·       Fully operate local area networks (LANs) across multiple locations or within a single site, ensuring high availability and optimal performance within L2/L3 networks

·       Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures for LAN and WAN infrastructure

·       Implement and maintain network security measures to safeguard LAN infrastructure from potential threats or vulnerabilities

·       Conduct regular network assessments, audits, and evaluations to identify areas for improvement or optimization

·       Support regular business demands and associated changes safeguarding continuous operations while focused on business intent

·       Provide technical support to other IT support teams, assisting in troubleshooting complex network issues

·       Contribute positively in evolution, improvement or optimization opportunities

·       Stay updated of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in LAN networking for continuous improvement
